In response to public health concerns due to Covid-19, all New York State registered voters may vote by Absentee Ballot in the 2020 General Election. (This is a process otherwise reserved for those with a valid excuse, such as disability or travel.)
If you choose to vote by Absentee Ballot, we encourage you to act well ahead of the deadlines to ensure your ballot can be obtained, completed, and returned in time to be counted!
Absentee Voting is a two-step process, with the following deadlines:
1. Apply for an Absentee Ballot: Applications must be submitted by mail, email, fax, or online by Tuesday, October 27, or in person by Monday, November 2.
2. Submit an Absentee Ballot: Completed Absentee Ballots must be postmarked or handed in no later than Tuesday, November 3.
Absentee Ballots may be returned by mail, dropped off at any open Early Voting or Election Day polling location, or delivered in person to the Westchester County Board of Elections in White Plains.
Learn more at the Absentee Ballots page on the Westchester County Board of Elections website.
Early Voting is a nine-day, in-person voting period that runs prior to Election Day—from October 24 through November 1. It includes weekdays and weekends, early morning and evening hours, and a choice of 17 locations across Westchester County.
We encourage all who intend to vote in person to take advantage of the convenience of Early Voting, as this will also reduce lines and wait times for all voters.
