NASSAU COUNTY, NY: New York State Democratic Party Chair Jay S. Jacobs released the following statement:

 “With the Lunar New Year upon us once again, it has become ever so important to remember the safety and security for those who celebrate this holiday.  We unfortunately are living through a time in which violence against the AAPI communities living throughout the nation is at an all-time high.  

Living through the Year of the Tiger is to embody bravery, confidence, and strength.  We should reflect and come together stronger than before – to put our feet down and denounce these baseless acts of hate and violence.  

Stopping this hate requires all of us to stand up and to speak out, so as a community, let us celebrate the start of a new year with the continued enthusiasm and hope our New Yorkers are known for.”
