NASSAU COUNTY, NY: New York State Democratic Party Chair Jay S. Jacobs released the following statement in response to the January Jobs Report:

 “Thanks to President Biden’s leadership, the economy is booming, and continues to exceed expectations.  2021 was the greatest year of job creation under any president in U.S. history, and for the first time, the United States created more than 6.6 million jobs in just 12 months.  While Democrats have worked to put this pandemic behind us and get working families back on their feet, congressional Republicans continue to stand in the way of progress. 

Republicans must explain to their constituents why they voted against the economic recovery and why they have no plan to address the issues working families face.  There is a lot to celebrate in this report, but we also know that there is more work to do.  New Yorkers can count on President Biden and Democrats getting right back to work delivering for the American people.”
