NASSAU COUNTY, NY: New York State Democratic Party Chair Jay S. Jacobs released the following statement:

 “While we must celebrate the progress MLK and his legacy has attained, we need to understand how much more needs to be done. There continues to be systemic inequality and injustice that permeates society—in housing, education, healthcare, justice, and the economy. While the journey for justice and equality undoubtedly continues, we can take solace that ‘the arc of history is long but it bends towards moral justice’ as long as we continue the hard and noble work of Dr. Martin Luther King.”
