Today, President Joe Biden will visit New York, New York to discuss combating gun crime and investing in communities with Governor Kathy Hochul and Mayor Eric Adams. Ahead of this visit, New York State Democratic Party Chair Jay S. Jacobs released the following statement:

 “We are pleased to welcome President Biden to New York today as he works to continue addressing some of the biggest issues our city and state face, including gun crime.  Preventing gun violence is a core issue in New York and it is one that the president is tackling head-on through community crime reduction funding, cracking down on rogue guns and ghost guns, and partnering with law enforcement and community violence prevention efforts to help keep us safe.  

Through his administration’s efforts to remove dangerous weapons from our streets, keep guns out of the wrong hands, fund community growth programs and push for meaningful legislation, President Biden is offering real solutions.  We look forward to continuing to work closely with this administration and with Democrats at every level to deliver for New Yorkers and help our neighborhoods thrive.”
