Summary

Antonio Delgado is a smart and exciting choice to be New York’s next Lieutenant Governor and will be ready to serve on day one. Delgado is a battle-tested campaigner and has already spent years in Congress delivering results for New York families, small businesses, and workers.

Delgado knows New York and is ready to serve: Delgado grew up in Schenectady and as son of General Electric workers, he was raised on the values of hard-work and service. He lives in Rhinebeck with his wife, Lacey, and their twin eight-year-old sons, Maxwell and Coltrane. His district covers 11 counties and he has held 65 town halls in his two terms in Congress.

Delgado is historic: Delgado is Afro-Latino, the first person of color to represent Upstate New York in Congress and a member of both the Black and Hispanic Congressional Caucuses. In combination with Hochul being the first female governor, this historic ticket continues to break barriers.

Delgado is battle-tested: Delgado will be uniquely capable of building a strong and well-funded campaign, and he has repeatedly won tough races:

• In his race for Congress in 2018, Delgado decisively won a competitive Democratic primary and went on to flip NY-19, which Donald Trump had won by 6 points in 2016.

• In 2020, a difficult year for House Democrats, Delgado was one of a few swing Democrats to return to Congress.

Delgado has a record of results: Delgado has had 18 bills signed into law – signed by presidents of both parties. He’s focused on improving access to affordable healthcare, protecting small businesses and family farms, expanding access to broadband, and building a vibrant local economy across New York.

• He is the Chairman of the House Agriculture Subcommittee on Commodity Exchanges, Energy, and Credit, and he serves on the House Small Business and Transportation and Infrastructure Committees.

The Hochul-Delgado team will continue delivering results for New Yorkers:The Congressman joins Governor Hochul in prioritizing public safety, good-paying jobs, strong public schools, and affordable health care. They will work tirelessly to make people’s lives better.
